Our Story

Fish has been our family's business for three generations.

Fresh Off the Hook is our family's seafood shop in Georgetown, Guyana. We sell fresh and frozen seafood to homes, restaurants, shops and businesses.
 In store: whole fish and fillets, shrimp and prawns, crab, squid, smoked fish, salted fish and more.

It started on foot.

FIRST GENERATION: It began with a mother who walked through her village, selling fish.
SECOND GENERATION: Her son grew up helping her, and he saw a bigger future for the family trade. He took the business from village sales to supplying companies across Guyana — then built a fish processing plant to send Guyanese seafood overseas. That plant is R&S Fishing Enterprise.
THIRD GENERATION: Today, the third generation runs R&S. The family has grown to include two seafood processing and export companies in Suriname — and a shop of its own, Fresh Off the Hook. A lot has changed since those walks through the village. What matters to us hasn't: good fish, handled with care, sold honestly.

R&S Fishing Enterprise — Guyana

Where it all began

The family's first business, now run by the third generation. R&S is a licensed fish and shrimp processing plant. It produces and packs the seafood sold at Fresh Off the Hook, supplies businesses across Guyana, and exports to buyers overseas, including in the United States.

GABS Fish Export — Suriname

From wharf to export

GABS processes, packs and exports seafood from Suriname's local waters. It has its own wharf, fuelling station and ice factory, so boats can land their catch, refuel and load ice in one place — keeping the catch cold from boat to plant.
